In the process, a model is created for the system behavior of the past, which can be used to predict the future system behavior. AI predicts events and outcomes and also suggests action to be taken.
Detailed scheduling is considered the supreme discipline of manufacturing IT and can also benefit from artificial intelligence. Complex order scenarios are optimally planned with AI. Artificial intelligence not only incorporates orders and machines in the planning, but also other resources such as tools, material, energy, and personnel. Bottlenecks are automatically identified and integrated into the perfect planning. This means that the planning quality far surpasses previous algorithms. Freed capacities can be used for new orders. This will significantly increase the performance of the Smart Factory. Whereas today's planning is typically made per department or area, AI is able to create a comprehensive and optimized planning integrating the entire production and even multiple sites.
